THE BEGINNING.
I have started this weblog for my Visual Storytelling module, and have chosen to work on the Wordless Narrative brief, which is aimed towards young people and pertains to themes of community, family and inclusivity. It seems very interesting!
I went a bit insane over the week and scribbled down various ideas for what I could do. Whatever I choose to do, it'll always centre around the theme of music (specifically trad jazz). Music is a good way to express certain concepts without the need for words, and in regards to community, I shall find a way to weave that theme into my outcome.

IDEA GENERATION
A good deal of the music I have in mind has, thank God, been in the public domain for a good few years now. Fletcher Henderson's arrangement of "Clarinet Marmalade" (which I think was originally composed in 1918?) was done in 1926, so that's fine, as well as most of Lee Morse's discography. But the real kicker, and the part I shall have to wrestle with, is anything after 1930, like Cab Calloway or Benny Goodman's stuff. I'll bet this sounds like a load of real drivel to whomever is reading this, but trust me when I say that this is so VERY, VERY IMPORTANT.
I finally have three different ideas, and I shall settle on the one I'd like to work on within the week.

IDEA GENERATION
I've settled on my idea. Below, I shall explain how, and what the project theme will be.
Some images of words regarding the choosing of my idea,
And here are the preliminary sketches for each panel I intend to draw out in full, DETAIL THE STORY HERE, THE NARRATIVE

I discussed my worries about the whole public domain/copyright thing with my tutor earlier this week, and he says it should be fine so long as it's purely an academic project, which it is.
I have also decided where to host this thing, since I've chosen for it to be an on-line webcomic-type layout, inspired by Homestuck (citation here!!). I shall put it on my own personal website, where I can put music tracks to play automatically upon opening the page, thus making for excellent audiovisual immersion.... I have started to draw the proper illustrations now, after the sketches I did before. For the visual appearance of my illustrations, I have written the following:

I am going out of my head!!!!! What have I done this week? More drawing, nothing but drawing. Digital technology is quite forgiving for someone with the computer skills of a senior citizen, like myself... but dear God, the struggle is intense. I've settled into the visual style quite well, now. It's easy to work with and if I zonk out hard enough, it's like I'm moving on autopilot! I shall polish this weblog for my afternoon task, and to-night, I shall draw more........

I'm finally done with the illustrations, thank the stars above. Listening to Simon and Garfunkel to try and calm my brain after all the stress and hard work, 'Punky's Dilemma' is a particularly soothing track. Nonsensical and light-hearted sound.
But I digress. Anyway, the work! From now, I shall polish up this weblog, and set up the actual webcomic on-line, with music on certain pages when necessary, and also set that slideshow PDF to submit too. At least all the difficult stuff is done and dusted. You'd think I can start taking it easy now, but no. I must press on and get it all finished.
... I wonder if this would actually appeal to the target demographic at all? Ah, well. They can suffer through it like I did, if they don't care for it.
